Congratulations to Dr. Sassi and her Music Partnership class for winning 1st Prize in the Developmental Disability Awareness Month Multimedia Contest! The contest was sponsored by the NJ Coalition for Prevention of Developmental Disabilities. Our Music Partnership class submitted an authentic video with the theme “Our Abilities Unite Us.” In the video, our students celebrated the idea that everyone, regardless of challenges, may participate and succeed in the performing arts.

The Roy W. Brown Science Department took the initiative to develop and orchestrate an interdisciplinary writing project. At each grade level, students were assigned the task of creating a children’s storybook on a curricular topic. As such, 6th graders depicted an aspect of the rock cycle, 7th graders designed a story on cells, and 8th graders focused their books on outer space, while Physics students concentrated their efforts on the scientific elements of a roller coaster. While the Science teachers assisted with the content, Language Arts and Social Studies teachers throughout the building aided students with their bibliographies and the written word.
