Welcome

The Roy W. Brown Middle School is proud to provide a comprehensive program in both academic and extra curricular areas to insure a successful transition from elementary grades to high school. Students in all grade levels (6-8) are grouped in teams and are taught by these teacher teams in their academic subjects. This team structure of students and staff fosters interdisciplinary studies and behavioral growth so important to this age group.

  • RWB Reads SCIENCE Across America

The Roy W. Brown Science Department took the initiative to develop and orchestrate an interdisciplinary writing project. At each grade level, students were assigned the task of creating a children’s storybook on a curricular topic. As such, 6th graders depicted an aspect of the rock cycle, 7th graders designed a story on cells, and 8th graders focused their books on outer space, while Physics students concentrated their efforts on the scientific elements of a roller coaster. While the Science teachers assisted with the content, Language Arts and Social Studies teachers throughout the building aided students with their bibliographies and the written word.
