Children Come First Our Mission
The Bergenfield Public Schools mission is to offer programs and services that enable its students to achieve their educational goals and become lifelong learners, community builders and global citizens. The District provides a safe and nurturing setting in which instruction is aimed at educating the whole child by promoting academic growth consistent with the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards. The District monitors performance data for the effective management of student achievement and district goals. Bergenfield Public Schools are dedicated to fostering community partnerships for the educational, operational, and fiscally responsible management of the school system.
 
Bergenfield School District Goals
#01: High School - 80% of Students take 1 AP exam with a minimum score of 3
#02: High School - 80% of Students obtain a score of 1500 on the SAT
#03: High School - 80% of seniors take Calculus
#04: High School - 80% of sophomores complete Algebra 2 with a B or better
#05: High School - 80% of seniors have 3 years of World Language
#06: High School - 80% of students pass the Algebra 1, Algebra 2, and Biology State Tests
#07: 8th Grade - 80% take Algebra I
#08: 8th Grade - 50% are in the Advances Proficient range on NJASK LA
#09: 8th Grade - 50% are in the Advanced Proficient range on NJASK Math
#10: 5th Grade - 35% are in the Advanced Proficient range on NJASK LA
#11: 5th Grade - 35% are in the Advanced Proficient range on NJASK Math
#12: 3rd Grade - 35% are in the Advanced Proficient range on NJASK LA
#13: 3rd Grade - 75% are in the Advanced Proficient range on NJASK Math
#14: 95% of all Kindergarten students will achieve a minimum score of 600 as measured by the Star Early Literacy Program.
