Elementary Counselors

Jefferson School and Alternative High School:
John Mahoney, L.S.W.
Mr. Mahoney received his Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from Rutgers University and is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), and also a NJ licensed School Counselor. He also has a BA in Psychology from Fairfield University in Fairfield, CT.

Franklin and Hoover School:
JoAnn Vazquez
JoAnn is a bilingual social worker who has worked for the child study the past ten years. She works well with parents and students and is excited about her new position as elementary guidance counselor. She is an excellent addition to our guidance program. Joann has worked with the other two counselors all summer to plan for this years upcoming programs and looks forward to working with the students of Bergenfield as a counselor.

Lincoln and Washington School:
Stephanie Rossi
Ms. Rossi received her Master's Degree in Counseling with a Concentration in School Counseling from Montclair State University and is a Certified School Counselor in N.J. and N.Y. She also has a BA in Family and Child Studies and is a NJ State Certified Elementary School Teacher. For 3 years, she taught K-5 students at Franklin, Jefferson and Lincoln Schools. From 2011-2015, she worked with the team at BHS as one of the 10th-12th grade counselors. She is thrilled to be back with the elementary students this year and is committed to fostering the social, emotional and academic growth of all students in need.
