Dear Parent/Guardian:
A new year is always filled with hope and promise. As I begin my new assignment as Principal of Roy W. Brown Middle School, I am filled with hope for our students, your children, and the promise of academic achievement that the days, weeks, and the months ahead offer.
Together, with our new Assistant Principal, Shana Wright, our teachers, and staff, we are eager to work with you to ensure the best education possible for your children. We are providers of academic and life skills. The school environment can foster a climate where learning and academic achievement are valued and promoted. We rely on you as parents to support and nurture our students as they meet classroom challenges. They need encouragement to apply themselves to their studies and they need to know you believe they can do it! They must also know that you believe academic learning is valuable for life.
In the years I have been privileged to be with our middle school, I have seen progress and growth. Beyond academic skills, I have seen discipline improve and character develop in our students. When home and school function together our children are in the best of all environments.
Parents and teachers can never work in isolation. We must be open to one another and work together for the good of our children. This requires open communication and sacrifice.
I know we have a competent and caring staff, and good parents. My hope is high and I promise I will do what is necessary for our school and for our students to be successful. May the New Year find us fulfilling our calling as educators and parents and bring happiness and success to our students.
