While food drives are typically held during the holiday season, people typically forget that there is a need for pantry replenishment year round. In celebration of the 100th day of school this year, classes at Washington School were challenged to collect a total of 100 items which would be then donated to the Bergenfield Food Pantry. Our students did a wonderful job of collecting canned goods to give to those in need. In total, approximately one thousand items were delivered to the pantry by DPW workers who stopped by to help transport the donations. Special thanks to WSPA Vice President Barbara Pizzuto for helping to coordinate this effort that allowed our students to celebrate the number 100 while learning the importance of helping out their community.
