  • World Culture Day May 29, 2024

It was so nice to have our parents back to help us celebrate our different cultures! Parents volunteered to create a station of their culture for our students to visit. There were games, videos, traditional clothing, artifacts, activities, trinkets, and more! It was a wonderful event with so many countries represented… Philippines, Colombia, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Turkiye, India, Italy, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Peru, Egypt, and Poland After school we were able to enjoy some delicious food from local vendors: Empanada Mania, and KBBQ.

  • Pet Adoption Day May 20-24, 2024

For a week in May, we were collecting pet supplies for the animals at Rosemarie’s Rescue Ranch (RRR), in Verona, NJ. As a whole, we collected two giant bins full of supply such as food, treats, toys, towels, etc. Additionally, on May 24th, we held an “Adoption Event” where students were able to adopt a pet. We had cats, dogs, guinea pigs, and rabbits available. From that event, we were able to raise $800 for the sweet animals at RRR. Specifically, we were able to provide vet care for two dogs that were stuck in a hoarding situation! Overall, this event was a huge success!

  • Franklin welcomes two new teachers to our family

We welcome Mrs. Susan Osso to Franklin School. She is a Special Education teacher who comes to us with a wealth of experience and enthusiasm. She started last week and has been working with some of our students and teachers already.   We also welcome Mrs. Michele Joyce as a Basic Skills School teacher here at Franklin and Washington. She will be with us in the afternoons working with some of our students. Mrs. Joyce was a long-term substitute here at Franklin a few years ago,…so: Welcome back!   We are very happy to welcome both teachers to the Franklin Family.
