For the third year in a row, Bergenfield High School has been ranked among the top 4% of high schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. BHS was recognized as 707th in the nation, 28th in the state, and 4th in Bergen County, behind only the Bergen County Academies, Bergen County Technical High School Teterboro, and Ridgewood High School in the 2018 High School Rankings. On Tuesday, March 27th, Bergenfield High School held its sixth annual Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony at Season’s Restaurant in Washington Township. On Monday, March 12th, Bergenfield High School held its annual Honor Society Induction Ceremony in the Bernard T. Baggs Auditorium. There were 250 students recognized in the following Honor Societies: National Honor Society, Art Honor Society, Math Honor Society, English Honor Society, Social Studies Honor Society, Science Honor Society, Tri-M Music Honor Society and World Language Honor Society. Congratulations to the BHS students and staff as the number of students receiving AP Scholar recognition increased by 18 students from last year. This year, BHS has a total of 95 overall AP Scholars, with 23 students receiving AP Scholar with Honor, 19 students receiving AP Scholar with Distinction and 4 students receiving National AP Scholar recognition.
The BHS Class of 2017 has made an impression on the community and has helped BHS receive recognition as one of the "Most Challenging Schools in America" by the Washington Post for the last 6 years.
