The Bergenfield Board of Education is proudly continuing its free full day integrated preschool program made available through the Preschool Expansion Aid [PEA], and all Bergenfield children who will be at least three years old by October 1, 2026 are eligible. Attendees are expected to be present for the full day, from 8:30 am through 3:10 pm, for the duration of the school year. Currently, the district has six integrated preschool classes housed at Franklin, Hoover and Lincoln elementary schools, though the location of these rooms is subject to change prior to the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
As part of our effort to address the needs of our youngest learners, and based on a successful experience in previous years, the district will continue to have two additional sections of preschool at the Bergenfield Head Start location. These classes will only be open to preschool students who reside in Bergenfield and will follow all of the same requirements as the preschool rooms housed within our elementary buildings. Since Head Start is a federallyfunded program for families in financial need, those who attend our program offered at Head Start must be deemed income eligible. Each class, regardless of its location, is taught by a New Jersey certified teacher accompanied by a skilled paraprofessional, both of whom are dedicated to providing the best educational foundation for your child. This program, which utilizes Creative Curriculum for Preschool, provides the children of Bergenfield with an excellent child-centered experience and is designed to prepare our students to succeed academically and socially as they begin their school journey.
If there are more requests for preschool than can be accommodated, a lottery will be held in the Spring for all eligible students, and the date and time of the drawing will be posted on the district website. Please note that if you applied last year and did not get into the three year old program, you must apply again this year in order to be included in the lottery. La Junta de Educación de Bergenfield continúa con orgullo su programa preescolar integrado de día completo gratuito disponible a través de la Ayuda para la Expansión Preescolar [PEA], y todos los niños de Bergenfield que tendrán al menos tres años para el 1 de octubre de 2026 son elegibles. Se espera que los asistentes estén presentes durante todo el día, de 8:30 am a 3:10 pm, durante todo el año escolar. Actualmente, el distrito tiene cinco clases preescolares integradas ubicadas en las escuelas primarias Franklin, Hoover y Lincoln aunque la ubicación de estos salones está sujeta a cambios antes del inicio del año escolar 2026-2027.

Estas clases estarán abiertas solo para estudiantes de preescolar que residen en Bergenfield y seguirán los mismos requisitos que los salones de preescolar ubicados dentro de nuestros edificios de primaria. Este programa, basado en el Plan de Estudios Creativo para Preescolar, brinda a los niños de Bergenfield una excelente experiencia centrada en el niño(a) y está diseñado para preparar a nuestros estudiantes para que tengan éxito académico y socialmente al comenzar su viaje escolar.
Si hay más solicitudes de preescolar de las que se pueden atender, se llevará a cabo una lotería en la primavera para todos los estudiantes elegibles, y la fecha y hora del sorteo se publicarán en el sitio web del distrito. Tenga en cuenta que si presentó su solicitud el año pasado y no ingresó a la clase de tres años, debe presentar su solicitud nuevamente este año para ser incluido en la lotería.
