Congratulations to Bergenfield High School for earning Silver recognition on the College Board 2025 AP® School Honor Roll!

The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs deliver results and broaden participation for students. Schools can earn the Honor Roll recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing their college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.

The AP School Honor Roll offers four levels of distinction: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. The BHS Class of 2025 was recognized for the following criteria:

  • 61% took at least one AP exam before graduating, earning Silver
  • 42% scored a three or higher on at least one AP exam, earning Gold
  • 18% took five or more AP Exams, earning Platinum

About Bergenfield High School:

  • Offers 30 AP Courses
  • 54 AP Sections Taught
  • 20 Teachers are Teaching AP

“We are excited to learn that Bergenfield High School (BHS) has been named to the College Board’s 2025 AP Honor Roll. We are proud to offer over 30 AP Courses to our students that provide both a rigorous and enriching academic experience during their time at BHS. I am grateful to our talented and dedicated teachers for sharing their subject expertise with our students,” said Dr. Christopher Tully, Superintendent of Schools.

“Our high school administration emphasizes to our students the importance of taking the most challenging schedule from the menu of course offerings that include numerous AP courses. Bergenfield High School students are showing the academic courage and grit to succeed in our AP program. Attending a public, comprehensive high school such as Bergenfield High School, the students in our AP program are being prepared not only to do college-level work but also to think critically on their own,” said Robert Ragasa, High School Principal.

College Board’s Advanced Placement® Program (AP®) enables students to pursue college-level studies—with the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both—while still in high school. Through AP courses in 40 subjects, each culminating in a challenging exam, students learn to think critically, construct solid arguments, and see many sides of an issue—skills that prepare them for college and beyond. Taking AP courses demonstrates to college admissions officers that students have sought the most challenging curriculum available to them, and research indicates that students who score a 3 or higher on an AP Exam typically experience greater academic success in college and are more likely to earn a college degree than non-AP students.
