For the eighth year in a row, Bergenfield High School (BHS) has been recognized as one of our nation's most challenging high schools by the Jay Mathews Challenge Index. The 2019 Challenge Index places BHS at 937th in the nation and 44th in New Jersey-- landing the school in the top 4% in the U.S.
The Class of 2018 has led the way in many ways. Because of their leadership, commitment and dedication to academics, for the 3rd year in a row Bergenfield High School was recognized by The US News and World Report as being ranked in the top 4% of Best High Schools in the United States. The US News and World Report recognizes Bergenfield High School as the 28th best high school in New Jersey and 4th best high school in prestigious Bergen County! For the third year in a row, Bergenfield High School has been ranked among the top 4% of high schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. BHS was recognized as 707th in the nation, 28th in the state, and 4th in Bergen County, behind only the Bergen County Academies, Bergen County Technical High School Teterboro, and Ridgewood High School in the 2018 High School Rankings. Congratulations to the BHS students and staff as the number of students receiving AP Scholar recognition increased once again from last year. This year, BHS has a total of 103 overall AP Scholars, with 17 students receiving AP Scholar with Honor, 21 students receiving AP Scholar with Distinction and 3 students receiving National AP Scholar recognition.
