October is also known as National Bullying Prevention Month. In an effort to educate and raise awareness of bullying prevention, Lincoln School has joined many other schools and communities nationwide in displaying our unity by wearing orange. As the PACER Center: Champions for Children with Disabilities states, “Bullying was historically viewed "a childhood rite of passage" and believed that it "made kids tougher", when the reality is that bullying has devastating effects such as school avoidance, loss of self-esteem, increased anxiety, and depression.” So Lincoln School, and the rest of the Bergenfield School District, has joined in the movement to come together and send one large ORANGE message of support, hope, and unity.
