Winners at Washington

Some students at Washington School chose to take part in artistic poster contests over the last couple of months. Just this week, winners were announced.
The Bergenfield Environmental Committee ran its annual Environmental Poster Contest for students in grades K-5. Melanie M. from our second grade won second place, while Denis M. from grade 3 took third place for the town. Students will be honored on Sunday, April 21st in a ceremony at Cooper’s Pond.
A group of fifth graders who were interested in working on art during their lunch time worked with Mrs. Anolik to create entries for the Fair Housing Poster Contest. This contest was sponsored by the Northern Bergen County Community Housing Resource Board. Students from all across the area submitted posters. Two students received awards for the fifth grade judging level. Brian M. was awarded Honorable Mention for his work, while Angel P. won first place for his poster. They will be honored in an awards ceremony  on Sunday, May 19th in Hackensack.
Congratulations to our amazing artists. The Washington School community is proud of your accomplishments.
