Bergenfield Public School District’s Music Education Program Receives National Recognition
Posted by Bergenfield Public School District on 5/1/2017
Bergenfield Public School District has once again been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The NAMM Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education. Bergenfield is one of only 4% of districts across the nation receiving the prestigious award in 2017. This award recognizes that the district is leading the way with music learning opportunities.
The Best Communities Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students. To qualify for the Best Communities designation, Bergenfield answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for the music program, and community music-making programs. Responses were verified with school officials and reviewed by The Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas.
Superintendent of Schools, Mr. Christopher Tully, stated, “It is an honor to once again receive this recognition. Our music students and faculty are extremely dedicated and are always in pursuit of excellence.”
